My Story
July 4th, 2003 was a memorable day for me. There were parades, fireworks and I was going to spend time with my daughters. Of course a GREAT Bar-b-que with hamburgers, chips, strawberry short cake, and potato salad. I ended up watching fireworks on TV from a hospital bed. The doctor told me he had "something to share." What? I had a pulmonary embolism, or blood clot in my lung and it had to dissolve. The doctor didn't seem confident this was going to happen. Five days later I was allowed to leave the hospital and I was given a second chance on life. The embolism was gone, however the problem that caused it was still there. I weighed five hundred ninety one pounds. The blood clot was the result of years of eating out in restaurants, lots of fried food, never worrying about what I was eating or how much. Exercise was completely out of the question. Happy I am alive, and given that second chance, I want to share this experience and help others with their weight loss journey.
It took very hard work and a drive to get to the point in my life that I had to do something. I wasn't getting any smaller and I had to do something. On November 16, 2005, I had gastric bypass surgery. Rome was not built in a day, and I had to keep my focus to lose this weight. People look at you in so many different ways when you are over weight. I felt just that alone, that hurt as most over weight people have this all bottled up inside. I can think of the days were I had such a problem trying to tie my shoes that I had to get my daughters to do this. And the days when my daughters were cheerleaders and I couldn't go to most of the games as I couldn't fit into the seats. I now weigh two hundred ten pounds and jog between six to ten miles a day.
It was really bad. If my story and my coaching services can help somebody and that all they need is a friend and a partner, then I can help and you can do what most feel there's NO WAY.!! Join me in the fight and beat the weight. I can help and you it's Time.!!...Anthony Reed
